Thank you to all the parents for their support with the PTFA events. Last term we spent £689.00 on new reading books for the children. So far this term, we have bought a Listening Centre for the Early Years which Blackburn Rovers kindly donated £200.00 towards and also contributed £100.00 towards items for cookery taking part after school.

Our PTFA project for this term is to raise money for a Storyteller Chair and benches for the outside area. The school celebrates 40 years of being at this site and therefore the PTFA would like to contribute towards celebratory benches and Storyteller chair.

PTFA Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who came along  and supported our Christmas Fair on Friday 12th December 2014. We raised over £800 which is a fantastic amount for a Friday afternoon!

Message from Father Christmas below!

Good morning, Father Christmas here!

Thank-you for allowing me to play a part at your Christmas Fayre last Friday, I really enjoyed myself and hope all involved enjoyed it too – especially the children.

Thank-you to my “elf helpers”, they and all the children were wonderful and a credit to you and the school.

Please could you arrange for me to have the code so that I can see the photo of me with the elves, or print one off for me.

Thank-you for my gifts, it really was not necessary and hope to see you all again soon.

Happy Christmas to all.

PTFA – September 2014

The PTFA, as the title suggests is a group of Parents, Teachers and Friends of our school. You automatically become a member of the PTFA when your child starts school, so welcome aboard. The only decision you have to make is whether you would like to play an active role in fundraising for the school and the children………..come on you know you want to.

We organise social and fundraising events for the children and their families. Each year we have our regular events but are always looking for new ways to raise money or a different approach on running an event.

We have are always looking for new people who can help out at events or organising events meaning that the onus is not always on the same people, reducing the workload for each volunteer.

The money that is raised by the PTFA is for use by the school to improve facilities for the children, whether it is in improving library facilities or building a play area. Our most recent projects have been support the improvement to the school exterior by providing new signage and creating flower beds.

We always ensure that money is used to benefit all the children at the school.

Throughout the coming school year we are looking to organise two events each term.  The first meeting will be at the end of September and we would like to invite anyone who has an hour to spare a couple of times a term to come along and join us. At the moment we are a small group of parents and it would great to see this group grow.
