We are engineers! Working together to design and build bridges for the Three Billy Goats Gruff.

\liverpool World Museum - Class trip

Heidi brought her pet lamb into school. We asked lots of questions about how to care for it.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have enjoyed retelling the story using Talk for Writing and story maps. We acted out the story with masks. We then decided to make our own porridge, following a recipe and then wrote our own recipes!

Art Week. Mechanisms Theme. We looked at cogs and wheels. We made clay tiles with imprints from the cogs. Later we made pencil and pastel drawings, carefully observing the details.

We had a visit from the little goslings. What will they grow into?

Thank you for joining us at our phonics Come and Play afternoon.

World Book Day

Every week Madame Russell joins us for our French lesson.

Collective Worship

We have been investing light sources and shadows. We made our own shadow puppets and shows.

We enoyed reading 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers and decided to investigate which items float and which sink. We predicted and then tested our predictions.

We compared the birds we see in Brindle with pictures of those in the Arctic. We then made bird feeders out of peanut butter and bird seed.

What's inside the explorer's rucksack? Take a look with us! We also made delicious hot chocolate. Just what a Polar Explorer needs after a hard day exploring!

Class trip to Gawthorpe Hall to find out about Victorian Christmases. We made cornucopias in the Victorian school room; mixed the Christmas pudding with the cook in the kitchen; found out about Victorian Christmas pastimes in the Long Hall and listened to Father Christmas telling us about what Victorian children might find in their stockings!

Can you spot your feet? We wore oddsocks to remember that we are all different and that's what makes us special! Anti-bullying week.

We had fun on our trip to see Trolls at the Cinema in Preston for National Film Week.

Remembrance Week. We made poppies, poppy biscuits and had a very special visit from Lance Corporal Keen who answered all our questions about life in the army and why we wear poppies.

Infant trip to Legoland.

Jasper's Daddy came to tell us all about bones and joints! Did you know there are 206 bones in your body?

All aboard the Train. We bought tickets wih pennies and then boarded the train to Blackpool!

Reflecting in our Collective Worship - the children take turns to set up the focal point and choose the hymns.
