The Kidsafe programme helps pupils protect themselves against all forms of abuse.
A key message from the programme is if something feels wrong then it probably is and you can tell someone and therefore deal with any emotional difficulties, supported by a trusted adult.
It also lets the children know that they are in charge of the decisions they make and can say no, e.g. when faced with peer pressure.
The Kidsafe programme links with, and supports all areas of the PSHE curriculum. This demonstrates schools commitment to safeguarding children by training a member of staff to deliver the Kidsafe programme in their school on an annual basis e.g., all new year 2 pupils will receive the programme.
At St Joseph's our certified Kidsafe trainer is Mrs Knott.
