School Meals
At St Joseph’s, we are proud to work in partnership with Lancashire Catering Services, who provide high‑quality, freshly prepared meals for our children each day. Their service is built on fresh, local ingredients and a commitment to healthy eating, with over 80% of food cooked on site and menus that meet all Government School Food Standards .
Universal Free School Meals (Reception – Year 2)
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal every day. This means that families do not need to pay for a hot lunch during these year groups.
Choosing a school meal ensures your child receives a balanced, nutritious meal, freshly cooked on site using high‑quality ingredients such as free‑range eggs, MSC‑certified fish and locally sourced produce .
If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, we strongly encourage you to take up this offer — it supports healthy eating habits and gives children a positive lunchtime experience.
