Computing

Computing at St Joseph’s

At St Joseph’s, we want every child to become a confident, creative and responsible user of technology. To ensure high‑quality teaching, we work in partnership with Jam Coding, who deliver our weekly Computing lessons and provide a rich, engaging curriculum that builds skills progressively from EYFS to Year 6.

Through the Jam Coding scheme of work, pupils learn essential digital skills including coding, online safety, digital creativity, problem‑solving and how to use technology safely and responsibly. Lessons are practical, hands‑on and designed to spark curiosity while preparing children for the digital world they are growing up in.

We also offer a weekly after‑school Computing Club for pupils in Year 2 and above, run by Jam Coding. This club is perfect for young computing enthusiasts who want to explore coding, robotics, animation and digital design in greater depth.

Our aim is to nurture confident digital citizens who can use technology thoughtfully, safely and imaginatively—both in school and beyond.
