Keeping Children Safe in Education

Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) is the statutory guidance that all schools in England must follow to keep children safe. It sets out the legal duties and expectations for schools, staff and governors, covering areas such as safeguarding procedures, safer recruitment, online safety and how concerns about a child’s welfare must be managed.

At St Joseph’s, every member of staff reads and follows this guidance so that we can provide a safe, nurturing environment where all children can thrive. KCSIE underpins our safeguarding policies, our staff training and the way we respond to any concerns about a child’s wellbeing.

If you would like to read the full guidance, it is available on the Department for Education website. If you have any questions about safeguarding at St Joseph’s, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team.
